Quality Manager

My client is a family owned business of over 50 years, and they are focused on casting and metal fabrication! They are looking for a Quality System Manager that will lead their Quality Department and work cross-functionally with the rest of the company. This role will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IATF 16949 QMS, leading annual audits, and managing the Quality team.

Job Description

Develop and maintain quality control standards, policies, and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements in accordance with IATF 16949. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quality control technicians, analysts, and inspectors. Collaborate with production, engineering, and R&D departments to identify and address quality-related issues and develop effective solutions. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve product / service quality and operational efficiency. Conduct thorough inspections and audits of products / services at various stages to identify defects, deviations, or non-conformities. Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions. Participate in the development and execution of training programs to ensure that all team members are well-versed in quality control protocols. Communicate and collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components. Prepare and present quality control reports and metrics to senior management.

The Successful Applicant

Bachelor's degree in Engineering / relevant degree or equivalent work experience. IATF 16949 audit experience. Proven experience in quality control, with a minimum of 3+ years in a managerial or supervisory role. Background in Metals, Industrial, or Machining manufacturing. Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team. Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze complex data. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present findings to senior management. Bilingual : English and Spanish is a plus.
