Your Opportunity

The Sr. Distribution PSM Manager develops, implements, evaluates, and communicates Distribution Process Safety Management (PSM) Program. This role ensures complete and accurate documentation for emergency situations and takes a proactive approach to employee awareness and compliance. The position maintains PSM compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Create, support and implement strategies to establish and improve PSM Compliance.
• Work with plant personnel to manage all aspects of PSM for all Smithfield applicable locations.
• Develop, evaluate, recommend and support process and equipment changes and improvements to maximize safety and improve operations.
• Primary coordinator and interface for PSM third party auditors.
• Establish and assure adherence to PSM auditing schedules, PHA reviews and Mechanical Integrity testing.
• Lead root cause analysis and preventive / corrective action follow-up in the event of an upset condition or release of Ammonia at a facility.
• Responsible for determining the applicability of current and pending rule changes related to PSM and ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Assist plants to ensure contractors working on ammonia systems are certified and properly trained for the tasks to be performed.
• Develop and maintain PSM related Key Performance Indicators.
• Lead safety activities related to PSM and ammonia refrigeration.
• Train applicable personnel in PSM.
