Position Overview :

This position is responsible for diagnosing and performing all repairs on customer owned equipment in the field. This will include troubleshooting, overhaul, cleaning, inspecting and assembling parts in pleasure and / or commercial marine environment. Must be skilled with mechanical and electrical tasks and own a complete set of hand tools.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) :

• Perform maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, and diesel systems on a variety of customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment.
• Responsible for service documentation, and training of lower-level technicians, when necessary.
• Ability to accurately order needed parts from vendors, and travel to customer sites.
• Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn out and damaged parts.
• Correct diesel engine deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission.
• Complete required paperwork to reflect hours within each job.
• Must be able to adhere to a regular work schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to communicate with customers and must be able to exchange accurate information. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing most of the day. The employee must frequently lift and / or move items up to 70 pounds. Must be able to detect parts and machinery from a distance and up close.
