About The Role

This role is integral to the design of the next generation of Digit, aimed at meeting customer needs at a commercial scale. The Senior Staff Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading and driving robot hardware architecture, as well as designing and developing robust and reliable hardware for this new robot generation. Collaboration with a multi‑disciplinary team of engineers is essential to understand product requirements and ensure designs are robust and production‑ready.

Location

This position offers flexibility, with the option to be based within commuting distance of our Salem, OR headquarters or remotely in the San‑Francisco Bay Area. Remote candidates should anticipate regular travel to Salem, typically one week per month.

About The Work

Senior Staff Electrical Engineer’s responsibilities include :

• Acting as an architect and leading major subsystem and overall robot designs
• Translating product requirements into engineering specifications and ensuring cross‑functional alignment across multiple domains
• Leading cross‑functional design reviews
• Executing rapid prototyping and bring‑up of electrical systems at the system level
• Collaborating with internal and external manufacturing teams to enhance design for test, manufacturing, and assembly, and developing and executing test plans for intermediate and final products, including test fixture design and software development
• Driving debugging efforts and root cause analysis for hardware and software defects
