About Position :   The Epic Ambulatory Application Specialist is responsible for supporting, configuring, optimizing, and maintaining outpatient workflows and modules of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system. This role bridges clinical operations and information technology (IT), and will translate user workflows into system build and configurations. The Epic Ambulatory Application Specialist will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for ambulatory workflows. This role is responsible for providing support, delivering training, and promoting user adoption, while driving system enhancements that align with organizational goals. The position also actively participates in system upgrades and updates to ensure ongoing optimization.

  • Schedule : Monday - Friday 8 : 00am - 5 : 00pm
  • Travel : As Needed
  • Duties / Responsibilities -

  • Configure and optimize Epic Ambulatory workflows, including charting,
  • order sets, and templates.
  • Collaborate with other Epic modules (Cadence, Prelude, MyChart, etc.)
  • to ensure integration and consistent workflows.
  • Participate in full project lifecycle : gathering, designing, building, testing
  • (unit, system, integration), go live, and post go live support.
  • Configure templates, order sets, decision support tools, rules, alerts, and
  • other functional components.
  • Configure, test, and validate system.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for patient access workflows.
  • and support processes, focusing on Epic build and training.
  • Provide guidance and build expertise to support workflow redesign
  • efforts, but leave ongoing operational monitoring and maintenance to the
  • respective department leads.
  • Partner with operational leaders to analyze existing workflows, surface
  • bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and recommend system-based solutions or
  • optimizations.
  • Other task as needed.
  • Qualifications -

    Education :   - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, biomedical informatics, healthcare administration, or a related field.

    Required :   2–5 years of experience working with Epic Ambulatory modules or other EHR clinical systems including.

    charting, ordering, documentation, or scheduling; required.

    Preferred :   Clinical background as a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or a licensed practical nurse.

    Experience in at least one full Epic implementation lifecycle.

    Experience leading or mentoring others.

    Experience with change management, governance, testing strategies / validations, and workflow redesigns .

    Project management experience.

    Clinical experience in a CHC, FQHC, or value-based care environment.

    Current / valid License :   Epic Ambulatory certification required within 9 months of hire if not already obtained.

    Immunizations :  Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment

    Pay Range -   $66,489 - $89,355
