Position Summary :
This role is responsible for the direction, control, coordination, and evaluation, compliance monitoring and training for all inventory control practices in a multi-site distribution network while managing to budgeted targets and continually improving year-over-year results.
Here’s what you’ll do :
Oversee the compliance, auditing and training of DC site Inventory Control teams on all DC inventory processes for seven divisional DC locations, including all receiving, cycle counting, inventory adjustment and clean invoicing standard operating procedures and processes.
Guide all network strategies on the slotting placement for each item across all network distribution centers to optimize material handling efficiency.
Manage centrally controlled dynamic slotting support technology and maintain data integrity to drive consistent results.
Assist in establishing the controls, methods and training for product assignment and slotting processes and activities. Ensure Warehouse Management System (WMS) and slotting software are in-sync so resulting system data produces accurate and meaningful data.
Evaluate distribution center storage capacity for multiple temperature zones per facility and key inventory control metrics on an ongoing basis and makes adjustments / recommendations as necessary.
Proactively monitors key indicators, communicates and resolves problems preventing financial impacts and reviews weekly and monthly financial performance across all sites to achieve budgeted goals and ensures up-to-date account reconciliations of site-level ledgers.
Also reviews weekly customer credits to assure that all customers are serviced with integrity and diligence. Oversees the automated reconciliation of inventory records to ensure a complete and accurate inventory count across the network.
Maintain cycle count programs to be in-compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls for inventory management.
Responsible for all multi-site IC departmental management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.
Maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best Inventory Control practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company legal compliance.
Oversee the utilization, compliance and training on the one way inventory processes.
Oversee reconcile inventory records to ensure a complete and accurate count.
Maintain cycle count program compliance to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls for inventory management.
Utilize financial and operational reports and data to analyze supply chain usage.
Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.
Develop and monitor department budget as required.
Maintain current knowledge of legal regulations, industry trends and best Inventory Control practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company legal compliance.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Here’s what you’ll need :
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management / Logistics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
Seven years facility level or preferably multi-site inventory management or internal audit experience related to inventory management.
Demonstrated best-in-class results managing inventory for medium to large complex distribution centers.
Three years of supervisory experience.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, influencing skills, oral and written communication, organizational, prioritization, problem solving and analytical skills.
General understanding of database structure and function along with (preferred EXE WMS system experience).
Working knowledge of inventory SOX controls and testing.
Proven understanding of inventory control principles and best practices.
Proven ability to understand logistics processes and systems.
Proficient with MS Office, particularly Excel and Word skills.
Strong drive for results / experience in a metrics driven organization.
Ability to travel up to 75%. Must enjoy multi-site responsibility and weekly visitations .
