Position Details
Assignment :
The Social Work Assistant is an employee of Edustaff and will work collaboratively with our fully credentialed School Social Workers.
Essential Job Functions (note this is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position) :
- Work with the virtual School Social Worker to provide additional support to students receiving social work services per their IEP.
- Collaborate with team members to support implementation of tiered interventions and behavior plans for students with IEPs.
- Assist the virtual School Social Worker in collecting data for Functional Behavior Assessment (FuBA) / BIPs, as well as data for initial and three-year reevaluation of students.
- Assist students with IEPs in logging on to receive virtual social work services with fully credentialed provider.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Collect student data as directed by School Social Workers and maintain accurate and organized records.
- Provide support to local school district during crisis events / situations.
- Support teachers and school staff members in implementing positive behavior support and appropriate interventions.
- Maintain professional communication and demonstrate professional behaviors with coworkers, staff, students, families, and community partners.
- Represent the District and Edustaff in a professional manner by performing all job functions at a satisfactory or above level.
- Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required or requested, consistent with reasonable expectations for the contracted position.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in social work required. Will also consider candidates currently enrolled in a Master of Social Work program, who have been awarded a Bachelors degree in psychology or Applied Behavior Analysis, with a history of working with students with disabilities that need help with social and emotional skills.
Experience :
Some experience working with children and adolescents, such as working in a structured daycare, pre-school, tutoring, etc. is preferred.

- Demonstrated competence in all areas of focus.
- Ability to articulate how to deescalate scholars.
- Ability to assist with positive behavior reinforcement and social-emotional learning.
- Excellent verbal and written expression using proper grammar and vocabulary.
- Exemplary work habits verified by previous employers.
Work Year, Hours & Compensation :
$26.00 per hour, days per year, 37.5 hours per week
