Media Technician – Contracted Employee of Edustaff
Position Details
Assignment :
The Media Technician is an employee of Edustaff and will be skilled, dedicated, and will promote technology integration in classrooms, maintain and troubleshoot technology equipment within the school environment, and manage the schools inventory of technology assets.
The Media Technician should be passionate about supporting educational technology in an urban public-school setting.
Placement : Flint Community Schools (specific school location to be determined)
Essential Job Functions (note this is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position) :
Perform regular maintenance on computers, laptops, tablets, printers, and other technology equipment.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for both staff and students.
Install and update software applications as needed.
Manage inventory of technology assets, including tracking and ordering supplies.
Collaborate with teachers and staff to support the integration of technology into the classroom.
Ensure accessibility of the schools digital network and educational platforms for all students and staff.
Conduct training sessions on basic technology use and troubleshooting.
Monitor and maintain the school buildings webpage.
Assist in the setup and operation of audio-visual equipment for school events.
Participate in district level training and special projects as requested.
Stay current with technology trends and advancements to provide informed recommendations.
Represent the District and EduStaff in a professional manner by performing all job functions at a satisfactory or above level.
Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents, and the community in a positive, supportive, and cooperative ways.
Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required or requested, consistent with reasonable expectations for the contracted position.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Additional education is preferred.
Proven experience as a Media Technician or similar role.
Strong knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting.
Familiarity with educational technology tools and platforms.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with school staff.
Adept at organizing and managing technology resources and inventory.
Patient and approachable demeanor, especially when interacting with students and staff.
Relevant certifications or coursework in information technology is a plus.
Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
iPad and Chromebook knowledge is a plus.
Must comply with Student Safety Initiative Legislation.
Completion of the required Global Compliance Network online training modules.
Demonstrated record of good attendance and punctuality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to sit / stand for extended periods of time.
Continuously required to talk and hear.
Occasional bending / squatting / reaching / kneeling / twisting.
Ability to push and pull computer carts containing large numbers of laptops / tablets.
Ability to lift and move desktop computers, printers, monitors, and other technology related hardware.
Compensation :
$20.00 per hour, days per year, 30 hours per week
