Position Overview : The Project Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial and accounting operations associated with construction projects.
They will perform a variety of accounting duties, from basic bookkeeping to complex financial analysis. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and maintain the project accounting records
- Review and analyze project costs, budget and expenses
- Produce financial statements and other project reports
- Monitor and reconcile project accounts
- Process payroll, accounts receivable and payable
- Conduct financial analyses and recommend strategies for improving profitability
- Prepare and analyze project budgets
- Assist in the development of project cost estimates
- Monitor construction projects for compliance with contracts
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures
- Provide support and assistance to project managers
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- At least 3 years of related experience in construction accounting
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and procedures
- Working knowledge of concrete construction and related materials
- Proficient with accounting software, including Quickbooks and Excel
- Experience with payroll processing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
