My client is a leading provider of precision components and machining solutions, serving various industries with excellence and innovation.
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Foundry Manager to oversee our foundry operations in Peoria, Illinois Metro area.
The Foundry Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our foundry, driving productivity, quality, and safety standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities :
- Leadership and Management :
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of foundry personnel, including supervisors, technicians, and operators.
- Set clear goals and expectations for the foundry team, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting open communication and teamwork.
- Operational Oversight :
- Oversee all aspects of foundry operations, including melting, molding, pouring, and finishing processes.
- Develop and implement efficient production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization.
- Monitor production metrics, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- Quality Assurance :
- Implement and maintain stringent quality control measures to ensure the production of high-quality castings.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to identify and address any quality issues or non-conformities promptly.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and consistency.
- Safety and Compliance :
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring that all foundry operations comply with relevant safety regulations and best practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any potential hazards or safety concerns proactively.
- Collaborate with the EH&S department to develop and implement safety training programs for foundry personnel.
- Resource Management :
- Manage the allocation of resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize productivity and efficiency.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and supplies.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization to improve operational profitability.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a Mechanical degree (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in foundry operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong technical knowledge of foundry processes, including melting, molding, coremaking, and casting.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives and achieving operational excellence.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Total compensation is $110k-$130K plus full benefits health, dental and vision. And a 401k match
