What You Will Do As the Global Director of Creative for Kiehl’s, you will be a guardian of the brand’s visual soul. You will lead the consistency and execution of 360° global campaigns—spanning Digital, Social, Brand Identity, and Retail—ensuring Kiehl’s remains an inspiring, "cool-apothecary" presence across every consumer touchpoint.

You will lead and mentor a high-performing team, overseeing the end-to-end production of compelling assets. Success in this role requires seamless collaboration with the DMI (Direction Marketing Internationale), US market teams, and external creative partners to push the boundaries of skincare storytelling.

Responsibilities

Aesthetic Vision & Brand Stewardship

  • Brand Guidelines: Oversee the evolution and maintenance of Kiehl’s global brand guidelines, ensuring they remain relevant in a fast-evolving digital landscape.
  • Omni-Channel Consistency: Act as the final "creative eye" to ensure aesthetic harmony across brand creative, e-commerce, educational content, events, social media, and visual merchandising.
  • Agency Partnership: In collaboration with Global Marketing, consult on and guide the creative output of external agencies to ensure alignment with the brand’s DNA.

Asset Creation & Innovation

  • Creative Excellence: Lead the conceptualization and production of innovative omni-media assets (stills, social-first video, and film) with a focus on "thumb-stopping" digital relevance.
  • Cross-Functional Consultation: Serve as a creative consultant for Marketing, Brand Engagement (Comms), and CRM teams to elevate their specific project designs.
  • Strategic Campaigns: Drive the creative strategy for groundbreaking marketing campaigns, focusing on B and C-level launches, while supporting A-level global initiatives.
  • Operational Rigor: Partner closely with Creative Operations to optimize resources, budgets, and schedules, ensuring the team delivers at the highest standard without compromising agility.

Key Working Relationships

  • Strategic Partners: Work with external agencies on the creative direction for major "A-level" global launches.
  • Internal Stakeholders: Foster deep collaborative ties with DMI Marketing, Brand Engagement, and Omni-channel teams.
  • Influence: Communicate vision and feedback effectively—verbally, written, and visually—to stakeholders at all levels.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of creative leadership experience within a major beauty, fashion, or lifestyle brand, or a top-tier creative agency.
  • Digital-First Mindset: Deep expertise in social media trends, short-form video, and digital consumer behavior.
  • Technical Mastery: Expert-level skills in Adobe Creative Suite; experience with AI creative tools is a plus.
  • Creative Intuition: A strong sense of style, elevated taste, and sophisticated typography skills.
  • Culture Vulture: Passionate about and "plugged into" pop culture, art, and skincare/beauty trends.
  • Analytical Curiosity: Ability to use business data and insights to inform and improve creative output.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing and developing diverse, high-performing creative talent.
  • Agility: A self-starter comfortable in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment; able to manage competing priorities with flexibility.
