Banquet Captain Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding service. As a Banquet Captain, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating banquet events, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and guests have a memorable experience.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Supervise and coordinate all banquet events, including weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions
- Work closely with the banquet manager and event planner to ensure all event details are executed flawlessly
- Lead and direct the banquet team, including servers, bartenders, and setup staff, to ensure excellent service and efficiency
- Greet and interact with guests, ensuring their needs are met and resolving any issues promptly
- Oversee the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and decorations
- Ensure that food and beverage service is timely and of high quality
- Monitor inventory levels of banquet supplies and coordinate with the kitchen and bar staff as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Train and mentor banquet staff, providing ongoing support and guidance
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately when required
- Assist with post-event cleanup and ensure all equipment is stored properly
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Proven experience as a banquet captain or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industryStrong organizational and multitasking skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of food and beverage service standardsAttention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional serviceAbility to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts effectivelyFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as requiredEducation in hospitality management is a plusGeneral Physical Demands for the Position :
Banquet Captains will regularly stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, turn, lift, walk, and carry and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
