Senior Data Modeler

Job Summary :

The Senior Data Modeler Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data warehouse and analytical database structures. This role involves working with business groups and application teams, understanding their needs, and building appropriate data warehouses and data marts. The SDM will create conceptual, logical, and physical data models, write complex SQL queries, and develop stored procedures for data analysis. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities :

• Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.
• Work with application development teams to implement data strategies and build data flows.
• Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy.
• Optimize and update data models to support data initiatives.
• Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices.
• Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments.
• Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases.
• Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.
• Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose solutions.
• Work with IT teams on project limitations, performance requirements, and interfaces.
• Review modifications to existing software to improve efficiency and performance.
