Job description

Certification Details

  • RN : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing.

Job Details

  • Clinical Coordination & Staffing Float Pool position available.
  • The position will involve floating routinely between various units within Rapid City location.

    • Job Requirements

  • 1.5 years general nursing experience (system requirement).
  • BSN required.
  • MUST BE ICU LEVEL RN, willing to float to MedSurg / Tele.
  • Will you accept a first-time traveler? Only if previous float pool experience and 2+ years experience, otherwise travel experience required.
  • Travelers must live more than 100 miles away from any Monument Health facility.
  • Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler.

    • Schedule Information

  • Hired into straight shift - see availability for posting; could potentially split shifts.
  • Weekend rotation : Every other.
  • No on-call.
  • Holiday Expectations : Every other.
  • Approval of time off up to 7 days - must extend to accommodate a 13-week contract.
  • No time off during annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (first 2-3 weeks in August annually).

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Patient Types : Complex ICU patients, diagnoses range from ARDS, MI, CVA / TIA, COVID, s / p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma (heavy trauma population), and more.
  • IMC / TELE / MEDSURG unit manages diagnoses including but not limited to Orthopedics, Neuro, Surgical, Medical, Intermediate Care, Oncology, Heart and Vascular conditions.
