Position Overview
Southern Search has been engaged to hire an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead high-profile, large-scale commercial projects in the Fort Myers area. This is a key leadership role with the opportunity to make a visible impact by driving projects from planning through closeout while delivering on schedule, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the master project schedule, collaborating with Superintendents to ensure smooth execution.
- Lead constructability reviews and partner with estimators on alternate methods, logistics planning, staffing strategies, and cost efficiencies.
- Represent the company in preconstruction meetings with owners and architects, aligning design development with project goals, budget, and schedule.
- Assign and oversee responsibilities across the project team, ensuring compliance with contract and administrative requirements.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Apply effective communication and conflict resolution strategies to keep projects on track.
- Mentor and develop new staff, helping to grow the next generation of construction leaders.
- Manage project accounting functions, billing, cash flow, and budget tracking with precision.
- Proactively prepare and track Change Orders, ensuring accurate cost projections.
- Deliver clear, accurate Project Status Reports, identifying risks and implementing solutions.
- Oversee construction progress, lead subcontractor meetings, and ensure top-level subcontractor performance.
- Manage project closeout, including documentation and photography for future marketing and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience managing large commercial construction projects ($10M–$50M+).Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.Demonstrated success managing projects exceeding $35M.Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.Comfortable leading presentations, meetings, and client interactions.Solid understanding of contracts, budgets, and risk management.Bilingual skills are a plus.Why Join Us?
