Project Engineer
LOCATION : Piqua, Ohio

BASIC FUNCTION :
Focus on new product development activities to support our strategy to increase sales of new products. The Engineer working with the NPD team will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes for new products. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure designs' manufacturability, optimize production efficiency, and maintain high-quality standards. Key focus areas include manufacturing assembly feasibility review, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), developing work instructions, assembly cell design, and assembly fixturing. Coordinates continuous improvement activities and works on NPD projects to drive productivity and waste reduction.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

- Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products, including creating work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans.
\n
Collaborate with design engineers to ensure new product designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.\n
Oversee the prototyping process, perform testing and validation of new manufacturing processes, and iterate on designs based on test results.\n
Specify and procure tooling and equipment necessary for new product manufacturing. Ensure equipment meets production requirements and quality standards.\n
Conduct manufacturing assembly feasibility reviews to ensure designs are suitable for efficient and effective assembly.\n
Lead PFMEA activities to identify potential failure modes and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.\n
Develop detailed work instructions to guide the assembly process and ensure consistency and quality.\n
Design assembly cells to optimize workflow, efficiency, and ergonomics.\n
Design and implement assembly fixtures to enhance precision, reduce assembly time, and ensure product quality.\n
Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.\n
Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure new products meet all required specifications and standards.\n
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for manufacturing processes, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), process specifications, and training materials.\n
Manage projects related to new product introduction, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.\n
Work closely with design, engineering, supply chain, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of new products into the manufacturing environment.\n
Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.\n

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :
\n
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.\n
3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in a new product development environment, is a plus.\n
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address manufacturing challenges.\n
Training in the use of 2D CAD software is required. Solid Works 3D CAD experience is a plus\n
Must be able to demonstrate project management success, either managing an entire development project or a portion of a development project as part of a larger team\n \n
