Description :

Position involves weekend shifts only.

The role is for an Orthopedic Registered Nurse.

The unit consists of 38 beds.

Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience.

First-time travelers are accepted.

BLS certification is required, and ACLS is preferred.

No on-call duty is required.

Clinicians may float to other medical-surgical departments as needed.

A block schedule accommodation is not available.

Local candidates are welcome with no radius restrictions.

Candidates must have an active Illinois nursing license to apply.

Time off requests should ideally not exceed 5 days.

The facility may cancel up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without compensating for those hours.

If the client cancels more hours than allowed, payment is required for excess hours.

Candidates will float within their scope to meet facility needs.

Telemetry experience is preferred, along with required skills in IV therapy and phlebotomy.

Previous travel experience is preferred.

The hospital is an Acute Care facility with 562 beds and is a Level I trauma center.

Charting is done using Cerner.

Preferred patient diagnoses include orthopedic elective surgeries and trauma patients needing orthopedic interventions.

The unit conducts various procedures including traction, bedside debridement, and complex dressing changes.

Special equipment includes slings, walkers, canes, IV pumps, and vital sign monitors.

Candidates must be able to secure housing and complete compliance needs promptly.

Floating is required of all travelers within the hospital and affiliate hospitals nearby.

AHA and Red Cross certifications are accepted; other certification types are not.
