Automation Controls Engineer

The Automation Controls Engineer is responsible for researching, developing, and implementing standards and specifications related to controls and automation systems within Vehicle Process Engineering (VPE). This role involves leading and supporting the development of control system standards, driving technical innovation, and providing training during specification rollout and system implementation.

The Controls Specialist will serve as a technical expert supporting production and launch activities, ensuring that controls systems operate reliably and meet performance, safety, and quality objectives. The position also acts as a liaison between engineering, system integrators, IT, and plant management teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and implement VPE controls and automation standards and specifications.
• Lead and support the rollout of new technologies and control system improvements.
• Provide technical support during production operations and launch events.
• Collaborate with system integrators, IT, and plant engineering teams to ensure compliance with design and installation standards.
• Present and educate cross-functional teams on new technical innovations and control system standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network communication within controls systems.
