Experience with ICU patients, IV medications, hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry, strong critical thinking skills, and working well in a fast-paced setting.

Description :

This position requires a Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit with a mixture of patient types, including complex surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases.

Diagnoses may include ARDS, MI, CVA / TIA, COVID, post-surgical, and heavy trauma cases.

The preferred candidate will have cardiac experience, including CABG / TAVR post-op handling.

Patient ratios may vary from 1 : 1, 1 : 2, to 1 : 3, depending on acuity.

The role requires a commitment to a 48-hour workweek.

Experience with using Epic is mandatory.

The nurse should be comfortable floating within the unit as needed and may be required to work in ED or step-down units.

Support is provided by CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy services, and a dedicated resource nurse.

This unit employs a team-oriented approach, with 24 / 7 respiratory therapy support and a collaborative medical team.

Weekends are worked on a rotating basis, and no time off is allowed during specific high-demand periods.

The facility provides a comprehensive orientation for both the hospital and the ICU unit.

Navy scrubs are the required attire for this position.
