Join Our Team for the Summer Youth Development Professional
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley is seeking enthusiastic Youth Development Professionals for a temporary summer position.
Since our inception in 2003, we have grown to become one of the largest clubs in Southern California, dedicated to nurturing young minds in a safe and engaging environment.
Responsibilities :
- Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating appropriate programs, activities, services, and special events.
- Promote program participation, track progress, and actively recruit new members.
- Design and execute innovative lesson plans and activities.
- Manage a classroom setting effectively, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all participants.
- Continuously look for opportunities to enhance program quality and ensure preparedness and safety of all members.
Qualifications :
- Fundamental understanding of youth development principles, especially within elementary and middle school contexts.
- Proven ability to lead and organize group activities for children.
- Demonstrated passion for our mission of supporting children’s development.
- Basic knowledge of engagement strategies tailored to the needs of children.
- Reliable, flexible, and serves as a positive role model for youth.
- Willingness to engage in comprehensive onboarding and training programs, including shadowing experienced staff.
- Coachable attitude with a strong desire for continuous learning.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in group settings.
- Must be 18 years or older.

- Motivational : Effectively motivate youth and manage behavior challenges.

- Conflict Resolution : Encourage youth to adopt peaceful approaches to resolving problems and conflicts.
