Join Our Team for the Summer Youth Development Professional

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley is seeking enthusiastic Youth Development Professionals for a temporary summer position.

Since our inception in 2003, we have grown to become one of the largest clubs in Southern California, dedicated to nurturing young minds in a safe and engaging environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating appropriate programs, activities, services, and special events.
  • Promote program participation, track progress, and actively recruit new members.
  • Design and execute innovative lesson plans and activities.
  • Manage a classroom setting effectively, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all participants.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to enhance program quality and ensure preparedness and safety of all members.

Qualifications :

  • Fundamental understanding of youth development principles, especially within elementary and middle school contexts.
  • Proven ability to lead and organize group activities for children.
  • Demonstrated passion for our mission of supporting children’s development.
  • Basic knowledge of engagement strategies tailored to the needs of children.
  • Reliable, flexible, and serves as a positive role model for youth.
  • Willingness to engage in comprehensive onboarding and training programs, including shadowing experienced staff.
  • Coachable attitude with a strong desire for continuous learning.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in group settings.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Motivational : Effectively motivate youth and manage behavior challenges.
  • Communication : Clear and concise communication skills, both orally and in writing.

  • Time Management : Efficiently organize and complete tasks within set deadlines.
  • Conflict Resolution : Encourage youth to adopt peaceful approaches to resolving problems and conflicts.
