Database Administrator

A company is looking for a Database Administrator to support the Department of Veterans Affairs in a remote capacity.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL database environments for performance and data integrity

Design and maintain database architecture, manage legacy databases, and implement backup and recovery strategies

Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot database solutions and assess future storage and performance needs

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience

Minimum of five years of experience in database administration in enterprise or cloud-based environments

Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server administration and performance tuning

Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure for database deployment and management

Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and scripting in Python or similar languages
