Engineering Construction Manager

The Civil Engineering Manager is a key role responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of architectural and civil engineering projects.
This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent project management skills, and the ability to lead a team of construction, architects, and engineering consultants.
Primary function is to create building and site drawings for project permitting and bid. Ensures stores meet or exceed design standards while maximizing space efficiency, costs, and profitability.
Communicate those scopes and standards with construction, architect, and engineering consultants.

Responsibilities :
- Facilitate interdepartmental scope and design agreement
- Primary liaison between consultants and construction managers for daily construction issues / anomalies.
- Manage all consultants including Civil, Surveyors, Geotechnical, Environmental, and Traffic to perform preliminary due diligence to determine the viability of each deal
- Coordinate between Engineers and Construction Managers to identify and notify the Real Estate department of any additional site cost that will impact ROI
- Review drawings for Civil, Landscape, Architectural, Structural, and MEP for quality and document coordination.
- Review documents and other information impacting construction such as; plats, surveys, zoning ordinances, Geotechnical Reports, Environmental Reports, and Site Investigation Report
- Maintain and update project schedules, including : applications, submittals, & deliverables
- Assist on design review of New Construction projects
- Provide lesson learned after construction review for future standards development
- Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all prototypes, standards, and guidelines related to the renovations and new store development
- The organization will rely on you to maintain our prototypes and when necessary, modify them to ensure our stores are staying, compliant and industry-leading
- You will be responsible for driving the design of all future prototypes and approving all variations that are brought forward
- Visit all sites under contract for a hands-on assessment of the land features and constraints
- Represent the company at municipality, engineering or neighborhood meetings
- Attend all planning and zoning meetings
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Understanding of permitting and construction documents, permitting, and construction administration
- Skillful communicator
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and effectively deal with ambiguity
- Build collaborative relationships
- Ability to travel approximately 15-20%
- Must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory MVR
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS :
REQUIRED :
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 3-7 years primarily as an architect or designer in a similar capacity.
PREFERRED :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction Management
- Working knowledge of Autocad, Bluebeam; knowledge of Revit, SmartSheet, Procore
