The Role

Reporting to the VP of Strategic Projects, the mission of this role is to own the overall project execution of large projects dealing with abrasive blasting and protective coating spray facilities.

This includes design, construction of the facility as well as the installation / commissioning BlastOne supplied equipment.

Overall project values will range from $5m - $50m.

You will need to have a strong Mechanical Engineering aptitude, a Design / Build Construction background and demonstrate extensive experience Project Managing complex industrial construction and equipment projects.

Specific responsibilities include (but not limited to) :

• Personal ownership for the delivery of the project which entails meeting scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives established.
• Serve as the main BlastOne interface to client and inspire confidence
• Strict management of the overall project budget including reporting and forecasting
• Evaluation, contracting and oversight of general contractors or other sub-contractors
• Lead your project team in a positive, cohesive fashion in line with the BlastOne culture and core values

Required Skills / Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management is required with Industrial / Mechanical / Electrical construction related experience
• At least ten to twenty (10-20) years of Project Management experience leading large ($5m+) projects
• Strong Mechanical Engineering aptitude
• Design / Build Construction background
• Demonstrate extensive experience Project Managing complex industrial construction and equipment projects.
• Strong technical aptitude
• Experience with industrial equipment, construction or related projects preferred
• Demonstrates experience in working with C-Level management in a professional manner (internal and external)
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, specifications, details, and job orders as well as the ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical engineering design and assembly drawings
• Complete understanding of cost estimating, budgeting, and forecasting
• Ability to apply engineering principles to construction challenges, identify and implement solutions
• Experience in process engineering, documentation, and metal working preferred
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to rapidly resolve issues and recognize when escalation is necessary
• Flexibility, agility, and change management skills
• A basic knowledge of electric circuits, controllers & pneumatics would be an advantage
• Great mechanical aptitude and ability to understand complex equipment integration on an industrial site.
• Must have an understanding and appreciation for site safety policies and procedures.
• Must have strong leadership abilities and "thick skin" to manage multiple subcontractors on a job site. Must be able to effectively resolve conflicts.
