Responsibilities Work in an acute care hospital Emergency Room with 25 beds including hallway and surge spaces Patient ratio is 4 : 1 with an average daily census of 140-150 patients Cares for a diverse population including sepsis, chest pain, abdominal pain, stroke, and pediatric cases Two dedicated mental health rooms and additional hallway spaces are available within the ED Shifts are 12 hours, typically 12 p.m. to 12 a.m., with every other weekend required Schedule offers flexibility with days and evenings and is mutually agreed upon Primary assignment is at one location but may require floating to other hospitals within the same regional system Epic EMR is used; prior experience with Epic is recommended Respiratory therapists manage ventilators, CPAP / BiPAP, and ABGs; RNs perform breathing treatments Team-based environment with ED leadership that is highly involved and supportive Float requirements apply within the defined regional hospital group Holiday shifts are required but are equitable with staff scheduling Three-day unit / department-specific orientation is provided for travelers Dress code allows for hospital-issued or personal scrubs ER nurses may provide care for psychiatric and boarded patients, and occasionally assist in triage if qualified No call or standby required First-time travelers are welcome to apply Requirements Active WA or compact state RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Minimum of 2 years recent ED RN experience required Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC are required Must provide a copy of a valid driver's license Two professional references required : one from a supervisor within the last year and one from a supervisor or peer within the last three years Epic EMR experience strongly preferred Candidates must not have been employed by the health system within the past year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-630220.
