Business Unit Risk Liaison
At Regions, the Business Unit Risk Liaison partners with senior leaders to strengthen the risk management culture across the business units within Regions. This position will work with the Business Unit and the centralized Risk Management department to assist in identifying and assessing the severity and impact of various risks.
Primary responsibilities include :
- Serving as the connection point and subject-matter expert between business units and Risk Management by fostering partnerships and collaborating as a liaison with other business and functional areas.
- Providing risk management consultation for risk identification, defines remediation efforts, and evaluates control design and effectiveness for problem / issue mitigation.
- Utilizing a knowledge of different risk types in identifying which risks could be affected by changes both internally and externally.
- Identifying Key Risk Indicators (KRI's) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to evaluate performance against desired state.
- Serving as an escalation point to support risk assessments with cross-functional teams to ensure the program is effective and scales across all business units.
- Developing improvement approaches across the Bank that are holistic, and customer focused.
- Identifying and helping prioritize new initiatives to drive business strategy, mitigate potential risks and control gaps, financial return, and / or positive customer impact.
- Continuously monitoring control compliance and prevalent risk environment to ensure that exposures are kept at acceptable levels.
- Providing advice and guidance on high-complexity issues and projects.
- May assist in developing metrics, models, and tools to create and analyze risk loss estimates and other capital planning documentation.
- May design, develop, and implement independent reporting and / or financial analysis to assist in the business' oversight role.
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements :
High School Diploma or GED and eleven (11) years of experience in risk management, consulting, or financial industry.Or Bachelor's Degree and seven (7) years of experience in risk management, consulting, or financial industry.Preferences :
Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project management practices and tools.Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) experience.Relative certifications that can be applied to risk management.Six Sigma certifications.Skills and competencies :
Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with different areas of the Bank.Ability to influence executive decision-making and successfully negotiate critical issue resolution related to program initiatives.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and team environment.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Products.Strong analytical ability with a high attention to detail and accuracy in the solving of complex problems / issues.Strong communication, verbal, and organizational skills.Strong project management skills.Working knowledge of differing risk types, the three lines of defense model, and applicable Enterprise Risk programs.Working knowledge of financial and or non-financial risk management strategies.Additional job description :
Advises Technology, Operations, Digital Data (TODD) BU on Information Technology (IT) and Data business decisions.Assist in execution of the Risk program components.TDRM BU Risk Liaison advises and conducts risk assessments and reviews in technology functions.Identifies, monitors, and report risks.Advises on plans, priorities, and challenges within the TODD BU.Conducts routine monitoring and oversight of IT and Data risk.Creates and monitors metrics.Assist in the execution of targeted risk assessments.Provides regulatory exam and audit support.Provides project management of multiple initiatives.Obtains and maintains necessary training.Solves a range of complex problems.Knowledge and skills :

Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Compensation details : Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include : experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position. Minimum : $115,687.55 USD Median : $159,930.00 USD This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan.
