SUMMARY :

The RN Health Center Administrator is responsible for providing clinical and operational leadership for assigned regional ambulatory health centers to ensure optimal patient care in the most cost-effective manner.

The Administrator supervises all positions in the health center that deliver primary care services and interacts with other departments to meet organizational needs.

The Administrator ensures adherence of staff to all policies and procedures and acts as a resource for clinical as well as administrative functions.

Directly responsible for delivery of quality of care through competency assessment and training under the direction of the Clinical Operations Director or other designated leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Oversees all clinical services at designated health centers to ensure a positive patient experience from registration through check-out.
  • Actively conducts, assigns and participates in daily huddles.
  • Oversees clinical orientation and ongoing evaluation of MA skills and competencies.
  • Collaborates with central scheduling to review weekly assignments to ensure staffing ratios are appropriate.
  • Reviews clinic performance and evaluates results from quality reports, utilizing corrective action to meet or exceed performance standards.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring for identified training needs for clinical staff (MA / MOA).
  • Monitors productivity daily to ensure patient and provider benchmarks are achieved.
  • Audits abnormal results daily and conducts periodic chart audits to ensure compliance for follow-up according to Aunt Martha’s protocol.
  • Addresses patient, provider and staff complaints immediately or within 24 hours either directly or through established appropriate Aunt Martha’s channels.
  • Regularly reviews audit and quality improvement activities and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Provides direct patient care as needed.
  • Participates in the roll out of new services and procedures through use of huddles, demonstration, and follow up.
  • Demonstrates professional and ethical behavior at all times per Aunt Martha’s rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Conducts monthly staff meetings with assigned health centers for planning and review of agency policy and procedures, program requirements, and operational activities related to meeting quality benchmarks, patient satisfaction, productivity and optimal performance of all positions.
  • Ensures the completion of assigned clinical duties (administrative / phone messages, patient cases, and tasks, including, but not limited to labs, medications, standing orders, waived).
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISORY KEY COMPETENCIES :

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;

enforcing policy compliance; addressing complaints

  • Appropriate medical record documentation, CPT, coding and selection of correct department as part of the clinical revenue cycle.
  • Advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of nursing and operational ambulatory care practices, and quality control techniques.
  • HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Blood borne pathogens and safe handling techniques.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, CDC, and Joint Commission guidelines

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

  • Current RN license in State of Illinois.
  • Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years nursing experience in an ambulatory care setting with at least 2 years in a supervisory role or any equivalent combination of experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :

Current RN license in good standing in the State of Illinois; CPR certification.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS :

Documentation of experience applying the nursing process including, assessment, planning and intervention

Current driver’s license Current auto insurance

Ability to work late evening hours Ability to work some weekend hours Ability to work some holidays

Ability to travel to and work at other clinics as needed
