About The Position

• Minimum 2 years recent respiratory therapy experience
• Strong background in working with ICU patients
• Strong background in working with ER patients
• Experience working in a facility with 300+ beds
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Description :

The scope of work for a Respiratory Therapist includes assessment, therapeutic intervention, and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders or associated complications.

Respiratory therapists assess individuals to prevent, detect, monitor, and manage disease and complications.

They provide therapeutic interventions to directly impact cardiopulmonary health as well as overall health status according to established goals and interdisciplinary care plans.

Education is provided to promote preventative care, self-management, enhanced cardiopulmonary health, and quality of life.

Regular assessments of patients and the equipment they use are performed in order to adjust therapy.

Respiratory therapists collect and analyze patients' blood and other specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases.

They measure the patient's lung capacity to determine any impairments.

Diagnosis results and treatment suggestions are offered based on the analysis of the patient.

The position requires the ability to float to other units and departments as needed and involves inpatient respiratory therapy care.

Clinicians must possess strong communication skills and the ability to handle quick changes in patient condition.

A motivated individual who can work independently as well as within a team is preferred.

Working hours include rotating shifts, every other weekend, and holidays with opportunities to pick up extra shifts.

Experience in specialized areas such as NICU, PICU, or adult ICU is beneficial.

This role involves utilizing various equipment, including computerized charting systems.
