Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mechanical engineering design for surgical suites, surgery centers, and hospital operating room facilities
- Direct all aspects of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP / FP) system design and coordination
- Develop comprehensive HVAC systems optimized for critical healthcare environments and sterile surgical spaces
- Ensure compliance with healthcare facility codes, standards, and regulatory requirements including FGI Guidelines
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, contractors, and healthcare facility planners
- Perform quality control reviews, technical calculations, and engineering analysis for healthcare projects
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance throughout project lifecycles
- Conduct site visits, coordinate with construction teams, and provide construction administration services
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institutionProfessional Engineer (PE) license - active and in good standingMinimum 6+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experienceProven track record designing surgical suites, ambulatory surgery centers (ASC), or hospital operating roomsExtensive experience leading mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design projectsDeep knowledge of healthcare facility mechanical systems including medical gas, HVAC, and plumbing systemsProficiency with engineering design software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP preferred)Strong understanding of building codes, ASHRAE standards, and NFPA requirementsExcellent project management, communication, and leadership abilitiesWhy This Is a Great Opportunity
