Position Overview
Our client, a well-regarded international law firm, is seeking a Business Development & Marketing Specialist to join their Houston office (hybrid). This role supports a variety of client development, marketing, and practice growth initiatives, including proposal preparation, event coordination, CRM management, awards submissions, and content development, all designed to raise the firm’s visibility and strengthen client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Support BD campaigns by maintaining target client lists, tracking pursuits, and assisting in pipeline reporting.
- Draft and coordinate pitches, proposals, and RFP responses, ensuring materials are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with firm messaging.
- Assist with the development of content, including attorney bios, practice descriptions, newsletters, and thought leadership pieces.
- Prepare and manage awards and directory submissions (e.g., Chambers USA), including timelines, research, and drafting.
- Track Houston-based marketing activity and results; generate reports for internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate client events and webinars—handling logistics, vendors, materials, guest lists, and on-site execution.
- Maintain and clean up contact data in InterAction (CRM) and manage mailing lists.
- Support partner and counsel BD planning and meeting prep, providing background research and client insights.
- Collaborate with other offices and serve as a local liaison for cross-office initiatives.
- Conduct client and market research to identify opportunities for engagement and visibility.
- Ensure alignment with firm protocols, policies, and brand standards.
- Maintain confidentiality, attention to detail, and sound judgment across all tasks.
Required Skills & Competencies
Deep knowledge of legal marketing and business development within a professional services firmExcellent writing, editing, and research skills; ability to distill complex information into clear messagingStrong organization, planning, and multitasking abilitiesComfortable managing multiple deadlines and priorities in a high-pressure environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms (InterAction or similar)Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys and colleaguesDetail-oriented, discreet, and capable of handling confidential informationFlexible schedule and ability to travel or work extended hours when necessaryTeam-oriented but also able to work independently with minimal supervisionEducation & Experience
Bachelor’s degree requiredMinimum 4 years of experience in marketing, business development, or communications in the professional services sector (law firm experience strongly preferred)
