Description :

Start Dates are not flexible.

There is a 100-mile radius rule.

No 48-hour guarantees.

Blocked scheduling requests are not considered.

No more than 5 days of requests for time off is allowed.

The nurse-patient ratios during days are 1 : 5-6 and nights are 1 : 6.

The department has 90 double occupancy beds.

Common diagnoses include pneumonia, COPD, radiation patients, AKI, as well as occasional laparoscopic cholecystectomy and appendectomy cases.

Nurses do not need to titrate heparin and Lasix drips.

Charge nurses may sometimes be available but can take assignments if needed.

Patient care techs assist with care.

There are 8-12 patients assigned per tech.

Bipap and stable trach equipment are used on this unit.

Dedicated monitor technicians are present, and travelers do not need to read telemetry.

Weekend requirements include working every other weekend.

Typically, 2 out of 3 holidays need to be worked.

There is a low census on-call requirement.

Floating may occur to Med Surg, stable low acuity in ICU, and other designated areas.

Scrub color is navy blue.

There is one day of unit-specific orientation and one day of clinical education.

Cancellation policy allows for cancellation equivalent to the guaranteed hours for the assignment.

Charting system used is Epic.

A BSN is not required.

This position involves acute care settings.
