Full-Time Leadership | Monday-Friday Days, No Weekends | $106,766-$160,160 Annual Salary + 17.5% Incentive Bonus | Sign-On & Relocation Available

Overview

Lead perioperative operations at a 311-bed acute care hospital in the Las Vegas area featuring 13 state-of-the-art operating rooms including a hybrid room and cystoscopy suite. This Director of Surgical Services role oversees 110 FTEs across OR, Preop / PACU, PAT, and SPD with growing surgical volume of 850-900 cases monthly. The facility offers comprehensive specialty services including emergency care, pediatric emergency, behavioral health, Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, orthopedics, spine, women's services with Level III NICU, and Joint Commission disease-specific certifications. Recent expansion added 4 new ORs supporting advanced robotics (3 spine robots, 2 da Vinci XI systems) and diverse surgical specialties. Responsibilities

  • Lead perioperative team with 24 / 7 responsibility for surgical services including OR, Preop / PACU, PAT, and SPD operations.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate surgical services programs ensuring quality patient care consistent with organizational mission and regulatory standards.
  • Identify and resolve operational problems affecting service delivery through effective solutions, follow-through, and communication.
  • Enforce standards of care and develop processes to measure and ensure consistent compliance with evidence-based practices.
  • Oversee fiscal management including budget development, capital equipment requests, and proper utilization of financial resources.
  • Monitor compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, hospital policies, and environmental / patient / personnel safety requirements.
  • Direct performance improvement program that monitors and evaluates critical aspects of surgical care delivery.
  • Advance customer experience and growth agenda for surgical services, establishing facility as OR of choice for physicians, patients, and staff.
  • Coach and develop leaders through feedback, performance documentation, and individual development plans while adhering to HR policies.
  • Build strategic internal and external networks to deliver organizational and departmental goals.
  • Participate in employee and patient rounding, identify future leaders, and facilitate evidence-based engagement practices.
  • Support new program strategies and enhancements to expand patient services and surgical capabilities.
  • Monitor quality event reporting, enforce safe site verification policies, and follow exposure control plans.
  • Collaborate with VP Surgical Services and facility leadership on strategic planning and operational excellence initiatives.

Qualifications

Required :

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from accredited program
  • Current Nevada RN license in good standing or active multi-state compact license
  • Minimum 3 years of Surgical Services leadership experience (will consider strong manager experience)
  • Demonstrated expertise in perioperative operations, multi-department oversight, and high-volume surgical environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills
  • Financial acumen including budget management and resource allocation
  • Preferred :

  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
  • CNOR (Certified Nursing Operating Room) certification
  • CSSM (Certified Surgical Services Manager) certification
  • Experience with robotics programs and high-volume spine / orthopedic services
  • Background in trauma, stroke, or specialty surgical programs

  • Annual Salary : $106,766-$160,160 based on experience
  • Annual Incentive Bonus : Up to 17.5% of base salary
