Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Director of Operations to lead and oversee all manufacturing operations at our Georgetown facility. The ideal candidate will bring at least 15 years of progressive experience in commercial millwork, retail fixture manufacturing, or related industries, with a proven track record of optimizing operational efficiency, safety, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of day-to-day manufacturing operations across two shifts, including production planning, workflow, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, quality, and profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of department managers and supervisors, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), production metrics, and budget adherence.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with sales, design, and logistics teams to ensure seamless project execution and on-time delivery to clients.
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and implement process improvements to reduce waste and operational costs.
- Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors as required.
Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in operations, manufacturing management, plant management or related leadership roles within the commercial millwork or retail store fixture industry.Strong knowledge of production processes, workflow optimization, and industrial manufacturing practices.Experience working with commercial ERP system.Excellent knowledge of woodworking tools, machinery (CNC / Beam Saw), equipment, as well as millwork industry products (e.g. hardwood, plywood, veneers, laminates, solid surface materials, edgebanding related products, etc.).Strong knowledge of WHMIS and chemical Safety for manufacturing industry.Demonstrated ability to manage multi-shift operations and a workforce of 50–100 employees.Proven leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.Experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a strong asset.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Reporting
