Description :
The Multimodality Technologist performs imaging procedures in two or more disciplines.
The Technologist focuses at least 25% on an advanced discipline such as CT, MR, Nuc Med, or IR.
Procedures are performed on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or licensed provider.
The Technologist ensures that imaging complies with established protocols for the diagnosis of disease and injury.
This role involves performing high-quality multimodality procedures according to exam protocols promptly.
The Technologist maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by adhering to established standards and procedures.
An understanding of radiation dose reference levels and monitoring practices is required.
Actions must be taken if the dose exceeds set reference levels, which may include patient follow-up.
Proper use of iSTAT point-of-care testing for obtaining creatinine levels is necessary.
Utilizes effective communication techniques to identify patient service requirements and ensure the correct exam is performed.
The Technologist prepares the patient and area for procedures by positioning the patient correctly.
Maintains safety requirements, infection-control policies, and proper sterile techniques during invasive multimodality procedures.
The equipment and work area must be kept clean and meet quality standards.
Issues with equipment should be reported to management or the appropriate department.
The Technologist is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all relevant documentation, including patient history and compliance with policies.
Maintaining medical imaging records appropriately is essential.

Explaining procedures clearly to put patients at ease.
Providing services in compliance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
Maintaining a calm and helpful attitude, even under stress.
The Technologist should demonstrate current knowledge and skills for appropriate care across all age groups.
Serving as a preceptor for training new team members is a valuable aspect of this role.
Availability to take call, if required, is also expected.
