Middle School Writing Teacher

We are seeking a dynamic Middle School Writing Teacher to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching descriptive, narrative, expository, and persuasive writing to students in grades 6-8.

Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement engaging and innovative lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards, focusing on teaching principle-based content, powerful delivery, grammar, sentence diagramming, and penmanship alongside various writing genres.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication skills.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their writing abilities across various genres, including descriptive, narrative, expository, and persuasive writing.
• Incorporate instruction on grammar rules, sentence structure, and effective sentence diagramming techniques to enhance students' writing proficiency.
• Emphasize the importance of penmanship and handwriting skills to develop clear and legible written communication.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate writing instruction across disciplines and promote interdisciplinary connections.
• Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, including writing assignments, projects, and standardized tests.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to provide updates on student progress, curriculum goals, and other relevant information.
