Position Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Warehouse Automation Technician to join our operations and technology team. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing warehouse automation systems—including automated storage and retrieval systems (AS / RS), goods-to-person robotics, conveyors, and supporting software. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and passionate about advancing efficiency and reliability in high-throughput warehouse environments. This position would required the candidate to travel to customer installations to preform their work.
Key Responsibilities :
System Installation & Setup
Assist in the assembly, wiring, calibration, and testing of automation equipment.
Support integration of robotic systems, sensors, and controls into warehouse infrastructure.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on automated systems, conveyors, and robotic units.
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues quickly to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to resolve system alerts and escalations.
Operational Support
Monitor system performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization.
Train warehouse operators on system use and safety best practices.
Document maintenance logs, issue reports, and system changes in compliance with company standards.
Continuous Improvement
Provide feedback to design and engineering teams on system performance and usability.
Participate in upgrades, retrofits, and scaling projects as the operation grows.
QualificationsEducation / Experience
Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical training.
2+ years of hands-on experience in warehouse automation, robotics, or material handling systems (preferred).
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of PLCs, sensors, conveyors, robotics, and warehouse control systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools, multimeters, and mechanical hand tools.
Basic familiarity with networking (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, MQTT / Kafka a plus) and industrial protocols.
Other Requirements
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and system manuals.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, safety-first mindset.
Comfortable working in dynamic warehouse environments with varying temperatures and physical demands.
