Pre-Analytical Assistant

Overview

Pre-Analytical Assistant I role at Synectics Inc. supports the Technical Operations Department with general duties across specimen handling and processing.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Analytical Assistant I is responsible for general support functions within the Technical Operations Department.
• Perform manual tasks including sorting, racking, pickup and delivery of specimens to the laboratory, specimen storage, centrifugation, and aliquoting. May be trained to run sorters in archive mode.
• Learn job duties and understand how Tech Ops and Specimen Processing functions interact to affect quality and throughput.
• Identify problems with specimen types or missing information related to sorting, racking, centrifuging, delivery, and storage; resolve or forward information to support timely problem resolution.
• Understand compliance policies related to test ordering, including researching test order information on translation tables, computer systems, and the directory of services.
• Meet quality and production standards within 6 months of training completion.
• Complete all required written documentation so it is understandable, legible, and timely.
• Report to work on time and follow attendance guidelines; support department performance during coworker absences.
• Learn additional functions within Tech Ops and Specimen Processing to enable progression to the next level.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
