This role is ideal for a visionary UX research leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, operations, and hands-on research. The Director, UX Research will oversee a team of researchers, build scalable research operations, and lead high-impact studies that inform strategic product decisions. This individual will be responsible for developing and mentoring team members, establishing systems that improve research quality and efficiency, and guiding projects in complex or ambiguous problem spaces. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders to ensure insights drive meaningful action. Accountabilities
- Lead high-impact, cross-cutting research projects to inform strategic decisions and product priorities.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of UX researchers, fostering a culture of rigor, curiosity, and continuous learning.
- Establish and scale research operations, including tools, processes, and best practices for participant recruitment, study design, knowledge management, and insight sharing.
- Partner with product and design teams to ensure research is embedded in continuous discovery and drives actionable outcomes.
- Translate complex findings into clear, compelling narratives for executive audiences.
- Collaborate across teams to remove blockers, share learnings, and align research priorities with organizational goals.
Requirements
Proven experience managing and developing UX research teams, with a track record of building high-performing teams through coaching and mentorship.Hands-on expertise in mixed-methods research, capable of leading complex projects in ambiguous or cross-functional contexts.Strong operational mindset with experience building or scaling ResearchOps systems, processes, and tools.Experience in continuous discovery or empowered product team environments where research drives what to build.Excellent analytical, synthesis, and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate insights effectively to executives.Pragmatic and impact-focused, balancing research rigor with actionable results.Comfortable navigating ambiguity and shifting between coaching, operational leadership, and strategic research.Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Design, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Benefits
