Accountant Staff
The Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of assigned journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of JetBlue's internal and external reporting. This includes month end and quarter end accruals, reclasses, interfacing with the business, and researching accounting line items. The role will focus on accounting for the Finance department, Facilities, and other departments as necessary.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Responsible for monthly journal entries to record, as determined by assigned accounts
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis; resolve any reconciling items on a timely basis
- Network with cost centers to obtain needed information for monthly close
- Assist in variance analysis of assigned Balance Sheet accounts and related Profit and Loss accounts
- Ensure internal controls are effectively maintained for assigned tasks
- Recommend improvements to the efficiency of accounting processes and timeliness of deliverables
- Contribute to special projects
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma / GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant experienceOne (1) year of accounting experienceProficient with the Microsoft Office suiteExcellent verbal and non-verbal communication skillsStrong analytical skillsDetail-orientedAvailable for occasional overnight travel (10%)Must pass a pre-employment drug testMust be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is locatedAuthorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorshipPreferred Experience and Qualifications :

The base pay range for this position is between $64,350.00 and $89,600.00 per year.
