Automation Engineer

We are actively seeking a Senior Automation Engineer III to support high-impact projects in the oil and gas industry. Based in Alpharetta, GA , this role offers the opportunity to lead complex automation assignments from concept through commissioning. You’ll work across multiple projects, manage junior staff, and serve as a technical expert in PLC / HMI programming, control systems, and hazardous area design.

Location : Alpharetta, GA

Pay Rate : $36–$48 / hr (Contract-to-hire, 6 months)

Schedule : M–F, 8–5 (some flex), minimal OT

Travel : ~30%

Work Setup : On-site (Hybrid possible after direct conversion)

Key Highlights :

• Lead automation design and programming for terminals, pump stations, and loading / unloading facilities
• Advanced PLC and HMI programming (RSLogix5000 & GE Proficy required)
• Serve as SME in control systems, hazardous area classification, and field instrumentation
• Create and manage I / O lists, data maps, functional specs, control architecture, and O&M manuals
• Provide technical mentorship and review work of junior engineers

Support oil and gas industry clients like Chevron, ExxonMobil, and Kinder Morgan
