A nationally recognized commercial general contractor is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead all financial operations and strategic growth initiatives. This is a confidential, high-impact opportunity to join a respected construction organization.
About the Opportunity
The incoming CFO will partner directly with executive leadership to modernize financial systems, optimize capital strategies, and guide the organization through an aggressive growth phase. The company’s long-time financial leader is retiring after completing the 2026 budgeting cycle, creating a seamless transition for a dynamic, forward-thinking successor.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic financial leadership across all divisions, including forecasting, planning, and analysis.
Oversee all accounting, treasury, risk management, and compliance functions.
Implement scalable financial systems to support multi-state commercial operations.
Partner with divisional leaders on profitability, project forecasting, and cost control.
Lead strategic planning related to mergers, acquisitions, and capital investments.
Represent the organization in key banking, insurance, and audit relationships.
Ideal Background
Proven senior-level financial leadership experience with a major general contractor, construction management firm, or large specialty subcontractor.
Alternatively, senior public accounting background with direct experience auditing or advising large construction enterprises.
Demonstrated success building or leading high-performing finance teams within complex, project-driven environments.
Strong command of construction accounting (WIP, job cost, multi-entity operations, etc.).
CPA, MBA, or equivalent advanced credentials strongly preferred.
Compensation & Impact
This is a high-visibility executive role with a competitive salary in the $300K – $400K range with long-term leadership opportunity within an established and respected construction organization.
