Operations & Management Consultant I - Ses
This is administrative / consultative work involving identification and resolution of operational and management problems for the Office of Economic Self Sufficiency. Training employees in methods of performing a effective and efficient job, including reviewing, interpreting and coordinating implementation of policies, procedures and directives. Provides technical assistance and develops and monitors improvement plans for effectiveness.
Typical Duties :
- Recommends operation policies and assists in the establishment of procedures, as required, to implement policies, achieve operational objectives, or resolve operational problems.
 - Monitors operation activities to meet specific measurable service objectives to assure compliance with statewide operation goals.
 - Investigates, assesses, analyzes and makes recommendations to resolve issues and problems.
 - Provides daily consultation and assistance to management and staff in the management and operation of service programs and responsibilities.
 - Consults with program supervisors and administrative staff to resolve programmatic, administrative and operational issues and problems.
 - Performs firsthand, on-site analysis of operational problems of service programs; serves on interdisciplinary staff teams to develop optimum resolutions; carries out the implementation of solutions.
 - Assists in implementing the development, refinement and testing of the Case Assignment and Management System (CAMS). Evaluates CAMS performance and identifies problems, making recommendations for appropriate modifications.
 - Serves as the official Single Point of contact in the provision of auxiliary aids and services to the deaf and hard of hearing
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.Ability to conduct fact-finding research.Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.Ability to communicate effectively.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with othersMinimum Qualifications : At least five years' experience working in ESS with two of those years in a supervisory capacity.
