Responsibilities Work in an acute care Med / Surg Float Pool setting with 61 beds Care for surgical patients (total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, general) and medical patients (CHF, CVA, SOB, diabetic issues) Patient ratios are 1 : 5 for days and 1 : 6 for nights RT equipment used includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen Telemetry monitoring with strips read by a monitor tech and confirmed by the RN 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required First to float as needed EMR system is Epic; experience with Epic preferred Will provide care for a diverse surgical and medical patient population RNs are not required to titrate drips on this unit Support available from nurse aides; aide ratio is 1 : 15 Travelers receive a travel CBO and unit-specific float checklist orientation Dress code allows any scrub color Holiday and weekend rotation required per unit policy Candidates may not have been directly employed by the health system within the last year Requirements Active ND or compact (NLC) RN license required at time of consideration Current BLS certification required Minimum of 2 years recent Med / Surg RN experience Must match current Med / Surg unit skillset Ability to provide two recent professional references : one supervisor within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor within the past 3 years (must include employment dates and eligibility for rehire) Copy of driver’s license must be provided with application Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625028.
