Job Details

Our client is seeking a litigation attorney to assist the managing attorney of the Leesburg, VA office.

Major Duties and Responsibilities :

• Responsible for reviewing files as they are assigned and developing strategies for handling files.
• Responsible for communicating strategies to clients, preparing and previewing pleadings and communicating same with clients.
• Responsible for preparing and answering discovery requests, motions and briefs.
• Responsible for attending hearings, preparing and communicating case status reports, and preparing billing reports.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required and Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor required.
• Barred Maryland and District of Columbia.
• Two to Five years of legal practice experience required, including experience in corporate law.
• Demonstrated high level of ability to perform research and efficiently and effectively communicate results both verbally and written, including publication.
• Knowledge of various corporate structures and arrangements and demonstrated ability to review and recommend alternatives.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively assess and balance risks and make business decisions.
