Job Description
The Clinical Training & Research Manager oversees the clinical training and music therapy internship programs. This role ensures clinical excellence support across the organization and supports the development and sustainability of the internship program. This role combines clinical leadership with research oversight, leading the organization in planning and implementing clinical research across various population settings.
Responsibilities
- Oversees Clinical Training Team, ensuring clinical excellence in clinical support for music therapy team.
- Oversees Music Therapy Internship Program, ensuring compliance with university affiliated internship standards.
- Provides regular and consistent clinical supervision to supervisees (Clinical Trainers, Internship Program Supervisor).
- Maintains clinical caseload, facilitating sessions in appropriate service areas.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership on program development and organizational growth initiatives.
- Develop and maintain training curricula, evaluation tools and orientation materials.
- Lead the development and refinement of clinical training protocols and service standards.
- Coordinate with universities and academic advisors to support student requirements for internship placements.
- Lead the design, implementation, and oversight of clinical research projects.
- Serve as primary liaison between the organization and the Institutional Review Board (IRB), ensuring timely communication and compliance with IRB requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to IRB approvals, consent forms and participant communications.
- Monitor and uphold the integrity of clinical services provided.
- Facilitate continuing education and professional development opportunities for staff and interns.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy (required)Master’s degree in Music Therapy or relevant fieldMT-BC requiredFive (5) or more years of experience working as a music therapistTwo (2) or more years providing clinical supervisionExperience in developing clinical researchValid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and automobile insuranceDesired Qualifications and Skills
Demonstrated commitment to meeting high clinical standards in a professional setting, including : leading group sessions, self-accompaniment on piano / guitar, songwriting, developing curriculum, showing initiative / innovation, exhibiting leadership skills / problem solving skillsExcellent written, oral, and organizational skillsDemonstrated proficiency in MS Office SuitePhysical Requirements
