We are in search of the world’s most creative and experienced Application Security engineering leaders managing a high-performance team.

We embrace entrepreneurs as well as those who come from more established organizations. As a key member of the Cybersecurity Team, you will lead the strategic and technical strategy for the security of our enterprise products.

Partnering with product management and Development teams across all of our products, you will interact with strategic customers securing innovative solutions that ensure Vertafore, its customers and their customers and clients are provided with the most secure product solutions.

Core Requirements and Responsibilities :

You will lead a team of amazing entry to mid-level Application Security and Information Security Engineers, influence many others and provide leadership on information security operations and engineering, static and dynamic code security, strategy, and technology approaches.

We expect you to be an accomplished engineer, have strong hands-on technical experience and deep knowledge in multiple areas of securing distributed systems, enterprise infrastructure, enterprise web delivery platforms and on-prem applications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Strong experience in information security program management

Strong managerial and interpersonal skills; ability to work with all levels of internal staff, customers, and prospective customers

Have experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

Have experience with Test Driven Secure Development

Working knowledge of security & risk assessment methodologies and mitigation strategies using industry standards, e.g., COBIT, ISO 27001 / 2, and NIST 800-53.

Working knowledge of federal and state data protection laws (e.g., GLBA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, State Breach Notification Laws, FCRA, GDPR, etc.)

Hunger to learn new concepts, new technologies, and be exposed to / adopt new ideas

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project)

Ability to work on multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously

Ability to handle confidential customer and company information

Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision

Think strategically to help influence secure features and services for short and long-term growth

Can create a fun, fast paced, motivating and rewarding environment for their teams and the organization

Ability to think End-to-End by connecting all the pieces of the business (development, product management, QA, operations, etc.

to help deliver secure features to delight the customer while leveraging all available assets.

Qualifications :

Must have proven experience in managing complex programs

At least 8 years of direct experience across Information Security, Application Security, IT audit, IT system administration

Minimum of three years’ experience leading high functioning teams

Have proven track record in leading secure architecture, design, development and operations of enterprise infrastructure, enterprise scale web delivery platforms, products and services in a high performance and high-availability SaaS environment

Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Business, or related field required

Additional Requirements and Details :

Travel required up to 10% of the time.

Located and working from an office location when required.

Occasional lifting and / or moving up to 10 pounds.

Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).

Frequent sitting and / or standing.

Vertafore is a Flexible First working environment which allows team members to work from home as often as you’d like, while using our offices as a place for collaboration, community, and teambuilding.

There are times you may be asked to come into an office and / or travel for specific meetings for a specific business purpose and this varies by job responsibilities.
