Mainframe Business Analyst / SME IT L3
Location - Torrance, CA (Hybrid of 4 days / week onsite along with 1 day / week remote)
Contract Duration – September 2025 – March 31 2026 with strong possibility of an extension
Travel – 10% - ad hoc on an "as needed” basis – domestic throughout the U.S. (travel expenses will be reimbursable)
- We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to serve as a Mainframe Systems SME and assist the Project Manager and / or Team Manager on various Parts Applications projects for one of our automotive clients. These projects will include the Texas Crossdock project . Assigned units of work vary from 100-hour enhancements, up to team members on a large project. Responsibilities will include the following : Analyze business requirements and create as well as manage the completion of units of work completed by themself and other team members.
- Gather requirements, functional and detailed analysis / design, testing (unit, integration, system, user acceptance), implementation, documentation, warranty.
- Define architectural solutions to meet application requirements.
- Provide status to Project Manager / Lead, as needed.
- Breakdown of Duties : Analysis / Design roughly 30-40%
- Development (code, unit test, int test, system test, UAT, Implement, Warranty) roughly 30-40%
- Architectural solutions roughly 20-40%
- Required Skills and Expertise : Must have strong proficiency in COBOL, CICS, JCL, IMS, VSAM, DB2, and System Development Life Cycle Concepts.
- Experience working with Microsoft development technologies such as .Net core, MVC.Net, and C#. Angular is a plus.
- Working knowledge of software engineering, software development, solution architecture.
- Experience supporting the implementation of medium to large scale systems across multiple platforms.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines across the enterprise.
- Solid understanding of technology strategy, technology standards, roadmaps, and practices.
- Technical aptitude of multi ‐ tier and cross ‐ platform architectures across the enterprise.
- Understanding in the information technology landscape ‐ stretching from infrastructure, network, client, server, emerging technology standards and trends.
- Experience working with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Desired Skills and Expertise : Knowledge of Automotive Parts Systems, Warehousing and Supply Chain is a plus.
- Experience working with Angular is a plus.
