Design Engineer Intern

At Skypoint Insurance.design engineers collaborate closely with industrial designers and technologists to create consumer products that enhance peoples everyday lives. Design engineers work through all phases of product development, from brainstorming and concepting to high-fidelity prototyping and DFMA.

Responsibilities :

• Design parts and assemblies in CAD using top-down surface modeling
• Work closely with industrial designers to help assess technical feasibility
• Build prototypes at varying levels of fidelity using standard shop and rapid prototyping tools to solve design and engineering challenges
• Support a team of engineers to develop product architectures considering DFM and user experience
• Conduct product testing to validate design decisions
• Participate in engineering and design brainstorms to generate ideas for solving technical and user-centered problems
• Communicate technical work to internal and external stakeholders across different disciplines
• Participate in user testing and research
