Accounting Manager - Syracuse

Centro is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Manager of Accounting to oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Department. This leadership role ensures financial accuracy and compliance with GAAP, GASB, and federal / state regulations. The Manager supports financial reporting, grant compliance, budgeting, audits, and internal controls while providing guidance to the accounting team.

DUTIES :

• Manage general accounting functions including A / P, A / R, general ledger, and month / year-end close
• Lead and foster professional growth among staff, ensuring adherence to departmental priorities and objectives.
• Monitor cash flow, prepare journal entries, and review reconciliations
• Support monthly Board reports and prepare audit documentation
• Oversee grant-related accounting, including tracking capital projects and submitting reimbursement requests
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with federal and state grant reporting requirements
• Review and approve financial transactions across banking and financial systems
• Administer on banking platforms (WebInfocus, M&T, JP Morgan Chase)
• Provide financial analysis and reports to support leadership decisions
• Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Accounting.

REQUIREMENTS :

Education / Experience : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and a minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, including supervisory or management experience.
