The Manager of Facilities & Service will serve as an integral member of Mark-Taylor’s management team, consistently upholding our commitment to provide exceptional communities that invite, inspire and feel like home for our residents.

What does a Mark-Taylor Manager of Facilities & Service look like? You understand the importance of ensuring all systems, services, people, and products you manage are functioning at their highest potential.

The Work You’ll Do :

  • Serve as the leader for the overall upkeep of the community as it pertains to maintenance & grounds cleanliness.
  • Both oversee and execute the hands-on maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of the community.

This includes consistent inspections, and diagnosing problems and making necessary repairs in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, flooring, carpentry, dry walling, appliances and exterior structures.

  • Manage the daily the inventory of the apartments in order to support leasing efforts including the Service Turn / Market Ready Board.
  • Schedule contractors / vendors as needed for repairs.
  • Maintain an excellent customer service relationship with all residents and team members.
  • Assist with Preventative Maintenance Programs set forth by Management.
  • Keep accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, work orders, inspections, inventories, pool chemical logs, make-ready and turn units.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety related items.
  • Adhere to Mark-Taylor Residential Safety Programs, policies and procedures. Add budgets
  • Participate in training classes as required.
  • Basic computer skills required for reporting.
  • Complete a Weekly Service Report in a timely manner as set forth by Management.
  • Capital Project bidding, oversight, and execution

The Skills You'll Bring :

  • Reliable transportation and working phone line or cell phone.
  • The ability to work on-call as needed
  • Extensive knowledge in the following areas; Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards
  • Knowledge of building systems

Preferred, but not required :

  • Associate’s Degree in Facilities Management (or related field)
  • CAMT (Certified for Apartment Maintenance)
  • Certifications in HVAC and Pool Maintenance

Work Environment :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions, hazards, close quarters and narrow passageways. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands :

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

The employee is required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee must exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal;
  • extensive reading; operating a motor vehicle; operating machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach;

performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature. The worker is also required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
