Job description

We are currently assisting our client with a Commodity Buyer search in the Battle Creek, MI area. This position will be responsible for coordinating and analyzing purchasing decisions regarding raw commodity materials. Qualified candidates will have a strong understanding of market cost and trends, have developed commodity cost savings initiatives, and have been involved in sourcing decisions or negotiations.

Responsibilities :

  • Developing Total Cost Optimization and Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Analyze suppliers to understand cost trends and market changes
  • Responsible for providing and sharing expert-level category knowledge
  • Standardize expectations of suppliers to maximize output and leverage buying power

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must have 2+ years of experience in purchasing
  • Experience within manufacturing environments
  • Experience managing commodity negotiations, primarily metals raw materials.
